    Dear Pastors & Christian Friends:

    Shalom!

We are looking forward to two lady sisters to be baptised tomorrow morning. In the evening, we will have our Anniversary Service followed by our AGM next Sunday evening.

Chooi Ying, sister to our church staff, Chooi Mee, has been faithfully attending Church since her salvation last December. She has also been witnessing to her folks and friends and helps to ferry people to Church every Sunday. One of her brothers, Sik Kheong & his wife and two sons (members of BBC, KL) have been coming whenever they are in Penang. Some of her unsaved folks are planning on coming to Church tomorrow. Please pray for their salvation.

Tingna, our fourth girl has been diagnosed as having Turner’s Syndrome, a chromosomal disorder. She has an appointment at the Singapore National University Hospital on August 21st & 22nd  to ascertain if the vital organs are affected in anyway. After that she will need growth hormone treatment of up to 18 months costing about S$2000- S$3000 monthly, then followed by estrogen treatment, possibly lifelong. We have already gotten the social worker’s approval to see the doctor at a subsidised rate and are in the process of applying for government subsidised hormones. Please pray that we may get it in time for our August medical appointment.

Meina had written from Melbourne that she & Yong Chit are doing well and are planning to join the Anchor Baptist Church over there. Zuming is still in the national service and needs your prayers for the Lord’s choice in doing some professional course. Anna will start her work as a contract teacher in a primary school in Chua Chu Kang, Singapore, next month. Lingna is finishing her 2nd year at the Temasek Polytechnic (Singapore) and is planning on doing her attachment at a law firm in Georgetown, Penang (Malaysia) during her coming semester break. Luona topped her form in the mid-year school examination but the rest of the girls floundered a bit their school results.

Thank you very much for your interest and prayers.

    Yours for the Great Commission,

    Ter Yin Ho.

    Dear Pastors & Christian Friends:

Sorry that you have not received our report for a while.

We praise the Lord for a few professions of faith. Quite a number of them are from Chooi Mee’s (our Mission-church staff) kindred.

Chooi Ying, her sister professed faith before last Christmas and is faithfully attending all our services and Bible studies. She even helps to ferry children to our Sunday school. We are looking to her baptism in the near future. Chooi Ying was a fervent Buddhist and the Lord has blessed the testimony of her conversion. Her fervent Buddhist brother, Saik Khuan, who had professed faith before, has been coming regularly of late and I hope that he will show an outright Christian testimony. He had been encouraged to consider baptism.

Another of Chooi Mee’s brother, Sek Phoy also professed faith with his wife and three children, who had been to our Sunday school before. However, we have yet to see them coming to Church though I understand that the two younger children are anxiously waiting to attend Church with their parents. Please pray that they will come to the fullness of saving faith, especially the parents.

Mr. & Mrs. Khew were having serious problems when they were referred to us by a concerned couple in their neighbourhood. Although this neighbourhood couple are not Christians, they had their children in our Sunday school before and are hopeful that we can help. Since then Mrs. Catherine Khew, who used to study in a Catholic mission school in Miri, Sarawak had professed faith. Mr. Khew had come to our Hokkien Sunday School  twice, and seems very receptive. I have been trying to reach him for personal Bible studies. He has to work long hours as a chief mechanic. Mrs. Khew has been suffering from heart palpitations for over a year. They have two children, the younger is only about 8 months. Please pray that Mr. Khew will get saved and the couple may overcome their problems and live for the Lord.

Meina, our eldest girl is back with us. We are planning to be in Singapore end of May for her wedding with Chia Yeong Chit, Joel, on June 2nd. If you would like to attend but have yet to receive the invitation, please contact us for details. Pastor Wee will be officiating.

Thank you for the fellowship in the gospel,

     Yours for souls,

     Ter Yin Ho.
