Dear Partners in the Lord,
We thank God for bringing missionary Montes and his family to join with us in reaching the Burmese and Thai souls in Maesot. They are great blessing in God’s ministry here. Please pray that they will be granted a missionary visa soon and for their language studies as well.
July was a very challenging month for us and the church here along the border. There are many NGOs (Non- governmental organization) operating here for the Burmese refugees and some of their workers are Christians. They were working here for quite a long time already and they don’t have a church to go to. Most of the time they go to a Thai and Burmese church, but all of the preaching are in Thai and Burmese. After praying and planning, God led us to start an English service for English- speaking people. By God’s grace, we have three services every Sunday. Bro. Montes is doing all the preaching in our English service and I’m doing the Burmese service. Thank God for two converts who followed the Lord in water baptism in this same month.
August-Thank God for bringing a group of future missionaries from Indiana, U.S.A. led by Bro.Randy DeMoville. Their visit really encouraged us and the church members. By the grace of God we were able to visit some villages, schools, refugee camp and orphanages here. Through the preaching of the word of God by those men of God, more than a thousand souls professed their faith and nine converts followed Christ in water baptism .Only God knows who among them truly accepted Christ as their Savior, so please help us pray that we will have the opportunity to follow-up on them. Another blessing was that one of the principals of the schools that we visited requested us to have a Bible study every Thursday in their school. We also started renting a pick-up truck that is being used here as a public transportation to fetch some young people from that same school to attend our Sunday services. Kindly pray for this new ministry of Gospel Baptist Church.
September was also a great blessing for GBC. Many visitors had come to our services with thirty- seven souls got saved and five converts followed Christ in water baptism. Our Bible study in the school is doing great with more than two hundred students in attendance twice a month. Many accepted Christ as their Savior already and some of them are coming to church every Sunday. Last week of September was a hard week for us. We lost the Burmese church worker and his family, for they enlisted to the U.N. a long time ago to go abroad (so called the 3rd country) to obtain a citizenship. For many years of waiting, the U.N. called them to go and live inside the refugee camp in preparation for this. By God’s grace, He has provided one member in the church who helps with our services. Please pray that we would be able train or find another worker to help us full-time in the ministry here.
Divine Charity Home for Children is doing great and almost all of the children received Jesus Christ as their Saviour. In August, nine other children followed Christ in water baptism. Please continue to pray for the spiritual growth of these children. A special thanks for the C3 International for their efforts to make this ministry going.
Thank you very much for continually holding the rope for us through your unceasing prayers and financial support. Through your efforts we were able to accomplish great things for God in His vineyard. We believe that all of your labor is not vain in the Lord and great is your reward in Heaven someday. God bless you and thank you for giving to the Lord!
