July-September 06
Dear Pastor Wee and Shalom Baptist Church Family,
From the Country of Cambodia, Greetings!
SOULS
From the month of July up to the month of September 2006, we have seen that the number of baptism surpassed the number of baptism from the previous months of this year. Just for the three months only I baptized 38 believers. Some of the children who are in the feeding ministry got baptized too. Please pray for the needs of the feeding too. We have been busy in our discipleship and we have seen God is working to our people. Our few faithful disciples in church are trying their best by the grace of God to visit almost everyday, witnessing and encouraging the believers to grow. And also it is obvious that there are lots of professions of faith made in this quarter. The challenge now is to help each one grow in the knowledge and character of our Lord Jesus Christ.
MISSIONS
In August is our missions month and at the same time we conducted our 4th missions conference, this is the highest and biggest event of our church in a year. We prayed that our people be challenge to give for missions and we had a good result of our faith promise missions’ giving compare last year. Our little church is presently supporting 8 local works and missions and looking forward to support 5 foreign missionaries beginning next month. We believe God’s hearts, God’s love is to see people saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.
One of our young men in the church who is studying in the Bible College was called to be a missionary in one of the city 150 KM down south of Phnom Penh. Please include him in your prayers. His name is Bunnareth. He will be third year in the Bible School this next semester. And Lord willing, this coming school semester three new students from our church will be enrolling in the Bible College that makes a total of six students.
LAND PROJECT
We are still praying and raising a land for the church, it is amazing how the price increase so rapidly, the moment we are close to reach the amount then it jumps up to a high prize. We cannot do anything than to pray and ask for volunteers and willing hearts to have part in this project. Thank you for praying for the land and for your great part.
Once again, thank you for your love, unceasing prayers and faithful supports to us and the ministry here. We cannot reach this far without you. You are a great blessing! Thanks.
We Love You in the Lord,
Edgar & Thea & the Kids(Desireal, Jasher, Deligth, Dearly & Discern)

March 10, 2006
Dear Praying Partners,
I trust this email finds you doing the best for our Lord, and the things that pleases Him as well!
I and my Family really appreciate you all for praying for us always. Last
Sunday (March 5, 2006) the Lord has given us a meaningful time to worship Him once again, one of our staff led 3 precious to the Lord. These souls have been listening to the previous
preaching for a quite sometimes and last Sunday they voluntarily raised their hands for salvation. I firmly believed that it is God who will touch hearts through the Holy Spirit that people responded to the preaching of God's Word.
Last Wednesday (March 8, 2006) me and my family and our workers set for the city of KAMPOT 148 Km down south for our outreach mission to plant a church in that city. I drove the church TRUCK and we enjoy the view along the way plus the wavy and bumpy road that makes you active, and discourage you to pass that way once again, but no other choice.
We distributed tracts, witnessed to people, distributed the gospel of John, prayed for the city and after that we set for another province, they called it KEP City, we distributed tracts, witnessed to people and we spent the night there and we prayed for KEP also. In these cities, we saw people receptive to the gospel.
The next morning we headed back to KAMPOT and we distributed tracts once again, witness to people and get contacts, then after lunch we headed home to PHNOM PENH, along the way we stop several times to share the gospel by giving out tracts.
We had a full of blessings seeing a positive response from people, this made me glad and rejoicing deep in my heart while driving on the wavy and bumpy road knowing God will bless the works of our hands. Many times under our Truck hit the road but praise God the Truck still in good running condition.
When we're close to PHNOM PENH and it was a refreshing time for me at last because the road is better, but I was shock when suddenly the Van that we are following stop suddenly because the FIGHTING COWS went at the middle of the road.
Unbelievably, no way to turn, I stood up as strong as I could to push the brake, but our Truck slided right to the VAN, and I do not know what to do for the moment. I saw my wife against the windshield pressed because of the impact and I saw my daughter flying towards the windshield and my wife was alarmed she grabbed her as fast as she can.
My children were crying at the back of the Truck while the staff trying to revive my 4th child-Dearly. Some of our workers got bruises and pains on the head. The forehead of my daughter Desireal drops blood and her left knee is painful and swelled. Dearly was revive in a few seconds but has some
balls (swell) on the head. My wife is suffering pain on the knee.
I am thanking God that He spared us once again. Please pray for me and my wife and my children. I am longing for peace in my heart.
We were very happy going home, but all of a sudden, it turned to sadness and crying.
The front , the doors of the Truck was messed up and in bad shape, this vehicle is very helpful to us to get children and people to church, especially during Sundays. This coming Sunday will be our children's Day, and all of the children in our outreaches will come. Please pray that God will provide a vehicle to rent to be used to get them.
Please also include in your prayers the needed amount ( $ 590) to fix the Truck.
We really appreciate you once again for remembering us always. Thank you for being there and for your part in our lives and ministry. May God richly bless you.
Sincerely,
Asuncion Family( Edgar & Thea & the Kids)
